i always ask that question when i wake up. then one word rings in my head for ten minutes; NO!

I ask myself the same question, and then I always get one resounding answer that comes with it: "Yes, you must put those people in their place." I smile and the world is good.

I just love people like that. "I'm sick, and I was too stupid to try and call ahead like everyone else did, so now I'm going to take it out on the nearest available easy target." Well done for delivering some karma to that gentleman, I personally hate it when I see people like yourself (or waiting staff, or anyone else who deals directly with customers) picking up abuse for a mistake they never even had the chance to make. It sickens me, if I'm honest.

It is a shame that a majority of the public are foolish and then try to pass the blame onto the people who are just doing their jobs... and an even bigger shame is that many people in my situation cannot do anything about it without losing their jobs. The customer services industry is royally screwed up.

oh my

that was a little extreme wasn't it?

regardless, I understand your frustration

but if you understand the consumers point of view, you may have a different perspective

you are the liaison between the feted "health care system" and the customer

I cannot even begin to fully grasp the monster of American health care, let alone some idiot who is impatient, and I wrote a research paper on it, as well as debated it in a debate tournament

and lets not even get started on the "universal health care" debate

I am so tired of talking about it, its ridiculous

people have this illusion that when they go to a private practice doctor, that the person is more important than others based their own personal level of need

but most people go to a doctor when there is a problem, so most people are the same level personal need which is high in this case

and then their is the complicated machinations between health insurance, that are so complex many insurance agents don't fully understand them

you are a front line soldier of a fight no one can win, our government just throws money at it just to keep alive for one more day

the health care system in America is borderline ludicrous, and you are in the worst position on the "totem pole"

If the proposed "universal health care system" under the Obama administration goes through, I would seriously consider looking for a new job

and here we thought that health care was the "recession proof" job?

I look at it very simply: I'm affected only by the things that come through my front door. I'm responsible for the schedule and the people on that schedule. You are no more important to me than any other person in the clinic... who has an appointment. If you cannot take the five minute phone call it takes to make an appointment, then you had better be willing to take what I can give you because I'm not going to just sluff you off... but I won't take flak because of stupidity.

"You went to a party, got drunk and then screwed a woman with herpes? Well I'm sorry for you... don't do that crap."

Many people do stupid things that they think are so critical... when really there is nothing that we can do for them "right at this moment" which they don't seem to comprehend. It's a long drawn out thing, and I can only focus on the near and the present.

As for American Health Care? British health care is bad enough for my focus... I've read about the American system... I've read about the French and the Canadian and the Netherlands.... all the systems have problems and those are the people running them. They don't look out for the benefit of all people: everyone is focused on one type of person... and each big change only gets better for one group of people. Which is stupid... but what can you do?

Hmm...Did the guy show up or did his dick fell off and he died? Or did he cut his veins for knowing that he will die so he died? (last phrase is messed up) Or did he peed too much blood and he fell unconciuos, hit some sharp edge and died? Or he flipped me off and died? Or did he just come to the appointment and he didnt die? (last one is very sad...)
Happy death day. :P

Wow... quite vivid and depraved, although every image did pass through my mind when I was helping him.... very odd indeed. >:)
